Jill (Hanson) Blom grew up on a farm south of Milan and graduated from Milan High School in 1983. She attended Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, graduated with a bachelors degree in art education in 1987, and married husband, Robert, later that year, which brought her home again to live and farm in the Milan community. Jill taught elementary art in the Milan Elementary School from 1991 " 1993. In addition to being a stay at home mom to their three children, ages 15, 14, and 11, Jill is also an artist/crafter, doing commissioned artwork, as well as selling her work at area shows. She has been involved in several community arts projects, including the coordinating of two large mural projects " one with Milan elementary students which hangs in the school cafeteria, and another one painted by many community residents which hangs on Milan's main street. She has been involved with the Milan Village Art School from its beginning in the late 1980's and has taught art school and community education classes in the area.
