Doorway to upper level of F&M Insurance Bldg is adjacent to Granite Falls Bank on corner of Prentice and 7th Ave. Artist Biography: I have been actively engaged in photography since 1970. Much of what I do is wedding and portrait photography but a passion of mine is landscape photography. I believe that it is important to document the landscape as a reminder of what people need to consciously protect for future generations. Without this documentation, people quickly forget how the landscape looked at various points in time. This awareness, through photographs, is a way of continuing to advocate for protection and care of the environment. I enjoy photographing the Minnesota River Valley, Southwestern Minnesota, and natural areas in other parts of Minnesota. Born and raised in Ely, the BWCA and the North Shore are favorite photographic locations. Family camping trips to various state and national forests and campgrounds have also provided numerous photo opportunities. I am very excited to be part of the 2009 Meander and the newly established Granite Falls Arts Council. In the past I have exhibited my landscape photographs at Java River in Montevideo and at the AAUW Art Fair in Granite Falls. One of my photographs was part of the SMAHC Postcard Art ’85 and two photographs placed in Wyoming Wildlife’s annual photography contest. I served as the photo club advisor at the high school in Granite Falls (GFHS, GFCHS, & YMEHS) and led a number of photo club trips to destinations in MN, Colorado, and Alaska from 1980 to 2001.
